Easter Sunday Music In The Vines

Easter Sunday Music In The Vines

Next “Music in The Vines” Easter Sunday 20th April from 1 pm – 4 pm.

Music by “The Reluctant Consort”

Music in the Vines at Easter“The Reluctant Consort play music medieval to contemporary on recorders, lutes, viols, cello, spinet and Renaissance reed instruments such as crumhorns and rauschpfeiffen. The group was formed by its director, Peter Petocz, almost 40 years ago and has performed in a wide range of contexts, including churches, galleries, halls, homes and even once in a prison (not the local one) and once in the Sydney Opera House (the foyer).

The Reluctant Consort have played at three previous Easter Sunday concerts at Joadja Winery, and are very pleased to be invited back for another performance this year. The programme will be varied as usual, including concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, a chaconne by Henry Purcell, a quartet by Johann Christian Bach, the ‘London Bach’, a cantata by Agostino Steffani, several choros from Brazil and dances from the Renaissance, and recently-arranged folksongs from the Orkney Islands as well as some earlier arrangements from China and Catalonia.”
