Australia Day Weekend Winery Music – Shameless Seamus and the Tullamore Dews

We have an extraordinary musical treat at Joadja Vineyard and Winery this Australia Day weekend.

Join us for an amazing afternoon of Irish Australian Folk and Rock, Joadja wine and wood-fired pizza!

Our special guest band is Shameless Seamus and the Tullamore Dews, featuring no less than:

Jim Moginie – founding member, songwriter and guitarist for the ARIA Hall Of Fame recipients Midnight Oil,

Alan Healy – who has performed with many Australian and international artists including The Dubliners, Christy Moore, Wolf Tones, Fureys, Foster and Alan, Mary Black, and Stockton’s Wing,

Lefty Wright (Stephen Coburn) – a founding member of ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees Mental as Anything, and an accomplished sculptor,

Evelyn Finnerty – from Blarney, Cork, Ireland and member of Blackwater on vocals and fiddle,

Samuel Mogadisco – poet/drummer on cajon and percussion,

Peter Mackie – on bass, and a past member of pre-Wiggles band The Cockroaches.

Nick Rheinberger could be the most versatile entertainer in Australia. He’s not only a well-known radio announcer, he plays at pubs, theatres and festivals around Australia as an MC, a comedian, a children’s entertainer, poet, storyteller, blues singer and actor. With his band The Galvanisers, Nick plays swinging blues and other selections on his collection of odd instruments, including a miniature bouzouki and a slide guitar made from vintage Australian corrugated iron. Last year, Nick released his debut album “Do Tell”, produced by Shane Pacey at his studio in Bowral.

Thank you everyone for coming along….the Highlands has a wealth of fantastic musicians and we are have been lucky to have some of these  performing at Joadja over recent years to wonderful support. And sometimes we meet musicians through our cellardoor….

So  our next “music in the vines”   will be baroque and renaissance music with “The Reluctant Consort” , an ensemble from Sydney on Easter Sunday 4th April 2010

Friends of the Berrima Courthouse invite you to enjoy popular ensemble Ella’s Holiday playing Jazz in the Vineyards right here at Joadja Vineyards and Winery in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Entry to this event is $20.00 per person

Bring a blanket or a folding chair, bring a picnic or enjoy the excellent gourmet food from Poss Britten Catering where you can buy a gourmet selection plate for only $10.00.

Tickets for Jazz at Joadja Vineyards can be purchased from the Berrima Courthouse, which is open 7 days 10am – 4pm.

We can accept your order for tickets over the phone and upon receipt of payment we will post your tickets to you. You may also purchase your tickets at the gate on the day however it is essential that you advise us if you wish to take up this option.

A large selection of Joadja wines will be available for sale, sorry no other alcohol permitted due to license restrictions.

The event will proceed rain hail or shine as there are undercover facilities.

Join us in Joadja on the Australia Day long weekend for our free 2009 Music in the Vines event.

Popular local group “The Songcatchers” featuring John Hall and Bob McInnes will be performing their unique mix of Bluegrass and Australian Folk Music.

Fresh finger food, cakes and coffee will be available. Please bring a picnic rug or folding chairs, choose a comfortable spot in the vineyard, and enjoy the music!

Hot wokked king prawns
Stuffed zuccinni flowers
Caramalised onion and goats cheese tartlets

Come amd join us for an afternoon of music, wine and relaxation on Sunday 25th January and then enjoy Australia Day at beautiful Berrima the next day.
